Opt In MLM Leads are SUPPOSED to be Safe
Opt in MLM leads want and agree to receive information. But did they agree to receive information from you about your program and your deal? If you use good opt in MLM leads you can be sure they did.
I'll explain...
First, let's back up and begin by explaining just exactly what these type of leads are.
The words 'opt in' are Internet slang for 'opted-in'. Opted in means that the person who is now defined as the lead at one time had surrendered certain information about themselves in exchange for receiving at that time or agreeing to receive in the future certain information from people like you.
What this information would specifically pertain to, they most likely weren't told about because the folks operating the opt-in website couldn't guarantee who would actually send them information and what type of information this would be.
Now if they're truly an MLM lead then they have either visited a site advertising about MLM 'business opportunities', or responded to a direct MLM ad, or stated that they're interested in learning more about MLM. These are the most likely routes that a genuine 'MLM lead' would be generated.
Combine the two aspects and you have an 'opt in MLM lead'. But this is where things begin to get kind of grey.
That is, just exactly what constitutes good or genuine opt in MLM leads. How does one tell the difference between the two without first getting scammed or finding out by being accused of spam that the so-called opt-in MLM leads they were sold were bogus? Good question.
Let's answer it...
You see, opt in MLM leads are truly only generated on the Internet. That's what makes them different from other leads. When a person in the non-Internet world at one time expressed an interest in finding out more information about different MLM programs then all you had to do was either call that person or mail them something via regular postal mail, like a postcard or a short letter.
Simple.
Non confrontational and nothing you could get in trouble with, right?
But send something to an Internet opt in MLM lead and things can get pretty messy fast unless you've first done your homework and checked a few things out. What would you check out?
Well, you'd check out the fine print on the website of the opt in MLM leads source you're thinking of buying leads from. You'd find out...
- exactly how these leads were generated
- exactly what type of online advertisement or promotion did the lead respond to
- what were they told they would be receiving from people like you
- if you request to have the information on a particular lead that is accusing you of sending them unsolicited 'spam' will the lead provider provide that to you ASAP.
- will the opt in MLM leads source back you up and elaborate to anyone who is threatening you with legal action or saying they'll shut down your website or ISP service. Essentially, find out if your opt in MLM leads source is willing to go to bat with you.
All of this is so critical to making sure that everything works out best for you on the Net.
Let me share a personal experience with you...
I was buying leads from an opt in MLM leads source once and when the person trying to sell me a monthly autopurchase leads buying program was getting to sounding pretty vague, after questioning him via a phone call, about where his leads came from and if I would be given 'opt in' proof when I requested it - I decided not to use his service.
It didn't matter to me that the leads may have been good. The guy didn't sound trustworthy.
But I had to work at finding this out, beyond just reading what he had written at his website. Because it's just not worth it to find out the hard way the leads a person spent good money on weren't bona-fide opt in MLM leads.
So just how does one get their hands on a good and genuine and safe bunch of opt in MLM leads? By generating them on your own.
This is usually the cheapest way to do it. It's usually not free and it does take some effort and time to make it happen. But hey, you do have the time to build your MLM business right. Don't you?
Well, you can go pretty much anywhere to learn how to generate your own leads on the Internet. If you want to learn how to do it virtually for free on the Search Engines
you can be taught just how to do that.
If you want to learn in a very specific MLM way and generate leads that opt in to receiving information from you about your MLM deal then you can find out how to do that with a certain MLM guru's system that allowed him to generate millions of dollars in sales through specific systems that he discovered
and mastered.
While we're on the subject of opt in MLM leads perhaps we should discuss the subject of double opt in MLM leads...
Remember that an opt in lead is one where the person agrees to a little statement on the website they're at that states that they agree to receive further information from other folks, like you? Well, this is done this way so that you, as the buyer of that lead, can have fairly conclusive evidence that that person knew they were going to get solicited later on by other folks.
But as we discussed earlier on this can get kinda tricky and there are ways that you can get wrongly accused of spamming that person and yet have no recourse to prove that you didn't do that.
Well, double opt in MLM leads are ones where the person not only visits the leads source website and agrees to receive the usually free information they want in exchange for surrendering some personal contact information, but the person also has to personally respond to an email that the leads source website subsequently sends to that person's email inbox.
If the person doesn't respond to the sent email in their inbox then they don't get whatever it is they said they wanted to receive from the leads source website. When they verify that they received the email from the leads source website, by 'replying' to it, then they're considered a genuine double opt in MLM lead. And they're considered to be a fairly genuine lead too. Why?
Because, what all this back and forth communication does is prove that:
- that person actually went to the website
- that person agreed to receive info from that website in exchange for getting contacted by other folks (like you), and
- that person replied to an email in their inbox to actually prove that they were the one who agreed to all this in the first place
With all this happening, that person can't say (in theory - anyway) "I'm being spammed! I never agreed to have these MLM dudes and dudettes emailing me. Someone else must have submitted my name at that site!"
Now, since you've spent all that money buying or generating the lead on your own, you don't want to fumble the ball here and lose your next possible leader, would you?
So again, we come full circle to exactly what is done with these opt in MLM leads once we have them in our digital hands. Well, as was discussed elsewhere on this website you have to learn how to write good copy.
And you have to have a good system set up
and at the very least be very learned in what to do with the leads once you've got them.
And finally, please remember that even with all this discussion about opt in MLM leads and double opt in MLM leads doesn't necessarily make the lead any better than other leads. Although it does make them 'safer' for you, it doesn't mean that the person you'll be contacting is any more hungry to receive your information.
So do your homework and verify that the actual opt in MLM leads source is actually using ways to generate the lead that make the leads a cut above the rest.
Then everything should be cool for you to build using opt in MLM leads. Good luck, you just might need it.
