MLM Scripts - Do You REALLY Need These?

That depends on YOU. Why? People respond to YOU, NOT just what you say from MLM scripts. Learn why success in MLM is not just about having a good MLM script to rely on.

But first...

So that we're on the same page with this discussion, let's first agree on what a script is and what it is used for.

An MLM type script is a fancy way of saying a pre-written set of MLM words that one can say to a prospect, or to another person, or for that matter even to an answering machine.

Essentially, a script is words that are strung together and have been, hopefully, proven to work as far as getting folks to respond to what the script states.

If the script is asking for someone to make a phone call back to you... that happens.

If someone is wanting to have you call an 800 number to listen to a pre-recorded script... that happens.

If someone is supposed to call you back salivating with anticipation about joining your MLM deal... that happens.

If someone is supposed to go to your website in a ready to buy attitude and then willingly fork out some money for your MLM product... that happens.

If someone is supposed to go to your company and beg to join your MLM deal under you... that happens.

You see...

MLM Scripts are Designed for the Person Who Doesn't Want to Get in Their Own Way

...and so that the person they're talking to will do whatever the script is designed for them to do.

MLM type scripts are meant to be used by people...

who are new to MLM.

who are unsure about themselves and what they know.

who don't know what to say to the people they present their MLM deal to.

who think this is all as simple as just smiling and dialing.

who are afraid to say the 'wrong' thing to their MLM prospects.

Essentially...

MLM Scripts are Kind of Like a Mental Crutch Because They Help and Support the Person Using Them to Progress in Their Business Building Efforts

But do MLM scripts really work? Are these scripts really what most MLMers are told they are and what they're presented as being able to do? Sometimes I have to doubt this.

I'll explain.

Most scripts are sold as the answer to most MLMer's recruiting problems. These folks are told or read on a website's copy that all they have to do is say this special, proven, pre-written script to their MLM prospects and MLM leads and these folks will join with them in their MLM crusade by the hundreds or thousands.

Well, this just isn't the case because we're talking about people here. Not automatons that are programmed to do what you want them to do.

People, your prospects, are not going to respond to MLM scripts pre-written by someone else. They're going to respond to YOU. Or not.

Yes, it's true. They're going to respond to the person they hear on the phone or see in person or read about on that cute little website they're at right now.

They're not going to respond to a prewritten MLM script that sounds like it is a prewritten MLM script.

Would YOU? I thought not.

You see, I know it may seem like the easy way to do MLM. Just get your e-hands on some proven MLM scripts and away you go to MLM e-riches.

But lets stick with reality here.

Do what you can to learn about understanding about people. First...

Find out what they respond to.

Find out what they don't respond to.

Find out how you can be turning them off by saying the wrong things to them without even knowing about it.

I would agree that scripts for MLM(ers) have their purpose in certain instances.

MLM scripts are useful when leaving a message in an answering machine or into voicemail.

MLM scripts are useful when asking a few probing questions to a potential prospect.

MLM scripts are useful to help the absolute MLM beginner know what to say the first few times she speaks to others about her deal. But even this should only include perhaps a few sentences that still sound natural to that person.

You see...

MLM Scripts are Meant to ASSIST You in Doing Your MLM... Not Do it FOR You

MLM scripts are meant to point your mind in the right direction when it comes to doing your MLM deal with others. And when you don't need that little bit of assistance anymore, then you give them up.

But here's a typical example of what MLMer's are told to do today...

This upline person in an MLM company I was working was telling floundering folks in this group to use this script that when it was printed out amount to about eight written pages of information. In all, the MLM script would have taken a person about 45 minutes to complete.

Can you imagine if someone called you on the phone, out of the blue, and asked to speak to you about their deal and then kept you on the phone for 45 minutes?

Can you imagine being the person reading the script and after getting the persons agreement to talk with them and going through your spiel about your deal and after the 45 minutes they just say, "No thanks, not interested" and then hang up on you?

How many times would you do that before quitting MLM altogether?

How many times could you afford to do that via the telephone?

Again, MLM scripts are an assistance to you. They don't do the job for you.

So how would I summarize all of this MLM scripts stuff?

I would say...

Rely on yourself.

Go through the bumps and bruises part of MLM and find out what to say that works NATURALLY for you.

Learn what you need to know about people first.

Learn about doing MLM in ways that don't totally rely on packing your mouth with words from MLM scripts to make it happen.

Learn about what people really respond to about MLM and what makes them tick in life.

And above all else... learn to believe in yourself so that you no longer think you even need MLM scripts to do MLM.
