MLM Newsletter - Good Ones Give GOOD Info
A good MLM newsletter gives its readers original, truly useful content. Want loyal readers? Satisy THEIR needs and they WILL stay subscribed to YOUR MLM newsletter. Why? Because of YOU.
This may seem pretty basic, but a good newsletter is supposed to be helpful to the READER of that newsletter. Many times this isn't the case so it's worth mentioning here.
Many MLMers think that just the fact that they're doing MLM makes them an expert and authorizes them to spit out a newsletter on MLM every so often. And when they actually get down to brass tacks and realize that there is a lot to doing this MLM newsletters stuff they just take the easy way out and don't end up writing anything.
You see, I've subscribed to many an MLM newsletter and then fairly rapidly unsubscribed to that same MLM newsletter. Why?
Because the person whom I was expecting to get periodic articles from in the MLM newsletters issues didn't even write one of those articles. They just cut and pasted other peoples articles into their issues and called that their newsletter. I didn't agree with this tactic. So I unsubscribed.
You see, I wanted to learn from that person. They convinced me that they had worthwhile information to share. At least that's what I read at their MLM newsletter website copy. And here I get their ezine and it's not even their thoughts. Their experiences.
Kinda misleading if you ask me. Not intentionally misleading, but not what I was expecting either.
So keep an eye out for these MLM newsletter folks if you're interested in reading and learning from the real deal.
Now let's get to the next vital point ...
A lot of folks are told and trained that when they're doing MLM on the Internet that they have to have a newsletter and develop a database of folks so that they can get better results in their web marketing. That's fine, but what makes it go awry is that...
MLMers are Wrongly Trained Into Doing Their MLM Newsletters When They Don't Have Any Useful Content to Share but Committed to Spitting Out an Issue on a Weekly or Bi-Weekly Basis
I'll explain...
Many people are told that they have to have exposure. They need to keep their name in front of their MLM newsletters readers or their ezine readers are just going to forget about them. So they're told that they have to write a weekly ezine to their subscribers.
Well, after a while that weekly MLM newsletter gets to containing some pretty useless information because the person writing it is more concerned with getting out the ezine every week instead of providing good content. The person forgot that what the readers want is some good reading and good MLM newsletter articles. Not just a digital rag that gets to their e-doorstep every week.
So...
Stick with the MLM Newsletters That Offer Good Content Over Frequency
After all, if the content is good - the newsletter author is going to be remembered and not forgotten about that easily.
The final point I want to make kind of ties into the first two points.
With many MLM newsletters the entire focus of the newsletter, for some reason, becomes getting a sale from that newsletter or somehow driving the newsletter readers to that person's website to get another sale from them. I find this tactic only truly appropriate in one circumstance.
You see, when the whole point of the MLM newsletters issues becomes to get the readers to the website to make another sale, the reason behind having the newsletter was lost.
A Newsletter's Focus Should be First and Foremost to Share, to Inform, to HELP Its Readers. Not to Hammer the CURRENT Subscribers Just to Make a Few Sales.
So how do most MLM newsletter writers make this happen? They take others folks article, just to make up for content, and paste these articles in their newsletter. And then at the bottom of the newsletter they ask for the sale of whatever it is they're hocking at their website.
Ebook.
Affiliate program.
Software deal.
MLM leads deal.
...Whatever.
But the fact is, the point behind the ezine has been lost.
Now, there is only one case when this type of tactic is appropriate, in my opinion. And that is when the ezine author writes truly useful, original content prior to asking for the sale in the ezine. This is when the readers have received good content and then are asked, hopefully, in a subtle way to make a buy.
This is when it's okay to do that stuff.
But is this an effective technique? I've been trained to think that it's not.
If one is constantly, every issue, hammering their subscribers to buy something I would guess that most folks would eventually just unsubscribe, or get turned off to the content no matter how good it is.
That's happened to me with some of the rags I've read. Very good content but after a while it gets kinds annoying to know that every newsletter issue I'm going to get some sort of plug for whatever the MLM person is doing.
So, what is the absolute bottom line with all this?
Well, remember what I said at the beginning of this page?...
- Write good, original, truly useful content for your readers
- Think of their needs
- Don't forget their needs
- Satisfy their needs
And they'll stay as loyal subscribers to your MLM newsletter. Why? They'll be staying because of YOU.
Trust me on this.
