MLM Mailing Lists - How to Get GOOD Ones

Stop paying good money for BAD MLM mailing lists. Learn what makes a good LOOKING list a bad DEAL for you. And find out how to get the good lists you want.

You know what the biggest issue is that you are going to come across when it comes to buying, getting, and using mailing lists? Getting what you pay for.

Now this isn't a matter of protecting you from getting taken for a money ride when you are told that your MLM mailing list is the best one out there and that it will lead to many sales and distributor enrollments. Rather the real issue is that you are going to probably end up paying some pretty decent money to eventually find out that the MLM mailing list you bought was actually a bad list and resulted in very poor results.

You see when you're dealing with MLM mailing lists, essentially what you're doing, if you didn't already know this, is that you're doing direct marketing. This is just about the only technique that existed before the Internet was around.

You have to choose, buy, write, lick, mail, and then wait for the orders to come pouring in. Hopefully.

Now if using MLM mailing lists is the way that you want to build your MLM business than okay...let's get you some useful information that will help you make the best of your MLM buying dollar when it comes to getting good MLM mailing lists. mlm mailing lists gif1

So what I would like to do here is start out by helping you make sure that you...

Don't Fall Victim to Some of the Tactics That are in Use Today to Trap Unsuspecting Buyers of MLM Mailing Lists

I'll explain...

You see, the seller of MLM type mailing lists, the MLM mailing list company, is in business for one reason. To make money. And how to best make money than to make many sales of their mailing lists to desiring MLM distributors.

Now one way to do this is to tell potential buyers that the lists from their MLM lists company are all green, hungry, and willing to buy whatever it is that you happen to be hocking in your MLM deal.

Now if only this were the real fact about MLM mailing lists.

Look, you're probably on many mailing lists and don't even know it. That's why you get all those telephone solicitation calls during dinner. They most likely got your name from a list and are doing the sales calls to follow through to see if you're a hungry lead.

Now, what does this point matter? Well, as you can see and hopefully agree, you may be on many lists but that doesn't make you a good customer for all these lists. It just makes you another name, another lead, on that list. And this is what you need to keep in mind when you're researching which MLM type mailing lists to buy.

You see, you're going to be told from the MLM mailing lists company that the particular mailing lists that they have are exactly what you are looking for and are nothing but filled with MLM business builders and MLM wannabe's. And if you buy their words hook, line, and sinker you just might end up getting a list that is nowhere as good as they tout.

So realize that all MLM mailing lists are not the same and most are not what they're being sold as. Let's face it, because you bought a bottle of vitamins from a health food store and then got put into a national database - does this mean that you're now a health junkie and want to promote an MLM health products program to the world? I'd doubt it.

So stay aware to what you're being 'sold'. Okay?

Let's continue...

Let's discuss another aspect of MLM mailing lists as it relates to the direct marketing industry.

I like to call this aspect the 'mail-through rate'. And what is it?

It's the percentage of mail that is actually going to get through to the end receiver of the mailed piece that you're going to be sending them. And of course, like other lists - an MLM mailing list is going to age over time and the mail-through percentage is going to go down over time.

People move.

People die.

People divorce.

People grow up.

People change names.

People change sex. mlm mailing lists gif1

You get the picture. Lot's of stuff changes and that name on that list changes or through simple attrition gets turned into a dead-end lead.

But those names still stay on the MLM mailing lists because the only way to tell that they are dead ended is by mailing them something and having the post office return it as undeliverable (or whatever). But the MLM mailing lists companies are not going to foot this expense.

MLM Mailing List Companies Sell and Re-sell DEAD Names, as Good LIVE Leads, to MLM Mailing Lists Buyers Like YOU

They make money.

And you get to do a lot of stamp licking for nothing.

So, what can you do about this? Ask questions of the MLM mailing lists company.

Ask them how they clean their lists. And if they give you a wishy-washy answer don't buy from them. Move on to the next MLM mailing lists company.

Ask how they handle undeliverable mail and what their leads replacement policy is. And if you don't like it, again, move on.

I want to share a little story with you. A personal experience.

If you haven't heard it already you're going to probably hear it from your upline, some direct marketing guru, or the MLM mailing lists company you're looking to buy a list from. What you're going to hear is that you shouldn't put your return address on the mailing piece you send because the end receiver (the lead) is more likely to open a piece of mail when they don't know who it's from.

Now, I'm not a direct marketing expert but I do have a tip regarding this practice.

It may very well be that not having a return address on a mailout piece does result in more opened mail due to the anonymity factor; however, it is definitely not allowing you, the sender, to gauge what the mail-through rate is in your MLM mailing lists.

And why is this? Simple...

If the mailout piece doesn't have a return address there is no way for you to tell if the mailing addresses in the MLM mailing list are good. There's no way for you to tell if the addresses are 'undeliverable' because none of them a returned to you since you didn't have a return address on the mail out piece.

Now, why am I belaboring this point?

Because I tested this once.

I bought a 'good' MLM mailing list, split it in two and made up 1500 mailouts without return addresses on them and 1500 mailouts with return addresses on them.

And 'lo and behold' almost half of the return addressed mailouts were returned to me as undeliverable.

Obviously the 'good' MLM mailing list I was told about, sold on, and paid good money for wasn't good after all. I think you'll agree.

And I think you might benefit from doing a small test like this after you get your MLM mailing list.

...And you might be surprised too.

Now let me point out one minor thing that you might want to keep in mind as you're figuring out how to build your MLM biz with MLM mailing lists.

Most MLM mailing lists companies, in fact, mailing list companies, in general, seed their lists with fake addresses to ensure that you aren't re-mailing the list you bought from them.

They have addresses in the list or anonymous post office boxes that help the mailing list company see if you're reusing the list you agreed to only use once. If you do a mailout more than once to the list they 'rented' to you they're going to know about it.

They're going to have physical proof of your violation of their agreement. Not good.

And they will pursue some threatening or legal action against you for violation of this agreement you had when you 'bought' their list.

You see, in most cases when dealing with MLM mailing lists companies you may be paying money for the list but you are only renting the list so that limits your usage to usually only one time. If you want to use it again, you have to buy it again.

So know this up front and don't get into a deal with an MLM mailing lists company where you find this restriction out too late. That is, after you've paid good money buying their MLM list.

Or should I say 'rented'. mlm mailing lists gif1

Now, there's one final thing to be aware of and that's the whole issue about writing good mailing pieces to send to your MLM mailing lists.

However, I'm not even going to attempt to detail this subject because again, I'm not an expert in copywriting.

But this is a critical area to become well versed in, even if you're intending on mailing out only audio cassette tapes or CD's that contain a Powerpoint presentation of your deal and compensation plan. You'll still have to send out a cover letter with this stuff. A written one.

So...

It's Critical That You Know What Makes a GOOD Mailing Piece to Send to Your MLM Mailing Lists

Essentially, you have to learn how to write to sell if you're at all serious about using MLM mailing lists as a main source of promotion for your MLM deal. And this is not something that can be learned overnight, for most folks.

And if you're not willing to go through a learning curve then you can pay someone big bucks to write a piece for you or you can rely on the pieces available through your parent MLM company. Most people can't afford the writer-for-hire route and in most cases the parent company route is not a good route to go either.

After all, they're running an MLM company not writing literary masterpieces that get the sale for you.

So, please...before you spend a lot of money on MLM mailing lists, stamps, envelope, photocopying, promotion materials, and even a toll-free number and eventually find out that you can't write worth a darn - do spend some time thinking this through.

And again, if you are serious about mailing pieces to your MLM mailing lists, even after all the possible expenses, then make sure you learn how to write to sell. After all...you're in or considering MLM to sell products or services so it might behoove you to do it well.

Agree?

Finally, I trust this information has been helpful. Please make the most of it.

Okay? Good. mlm mailing lists gif1
