A Sure Cure For MLM Depression

Let me share a brief situation with you that happened in my life. Perhaps the insight from it will help you get out of that MLM funk you sometimes, or currently, find yourself in.

My brother-in-law died recently.

He struggled with terminal brain cancer for eighteen months.

He was 51 and left behind a wife, two teenagers, his mother, three siblings, many inlaws, including me.

I knew him for sixteen years. Although we weren't too close during those years, I did like him and have some good talks with him.

The thing I remember most about him was that during all those years and the many times I spent around him, I never saw him get angry.

Frustrated - yes. But never angry. That's just the way he was. He was kind of like the big brother you never had but wish you had.

The big brother who would come to your defence when needed. The big brother who would help you when the going got rough.

We attended his funeral several days after he passed away. There were over 500 people there. Family. Friends. Co-workers. Employees. Church-fellows.

Of course, the usual stuff was said about him and how he lived his life.

You know the drill. He was kind, giving, generous, good-hearted. And he loved his wife and kids dearly. And he fought his own demons, like we all do at times.

But what struck me afterwards, the next day, was that everything that was shared about him was about who he was as a person. As a human being.

And nothing was shared about what he had in life before he passed on.

There was no discussion about his new Hummer in the garage.

There was no discussion about his 5000 square foot home located in a prestigious neighborhood in the city.

There was no discussion about him being a self-made millionaire through owning his own technical business for the last ten years.

There was no discussion about the second large home he had in another state so his family could take vacations there.

There was no discussion about any of that kind of stuff.

But what really made this all make sense was when the pastor at my brother-in-law's church shared one of the last lucid statements my brother-in-law made several weeks before he died.

He told his pastor to tell everyone...

'It's not about possessions, it's about relationships.'

Think about that.

It's about relationships.

Let me ask you...

I can bet it's about the possessions. That's nothing to be ashamed about. That's what most of us do.

It's only after a while that we discover that we're not going to get those possessions until we work on building those relationships.

You've been told this before or read it elsewhere online...

MLM is all about relationships.

MLM is all about people.

Your distributors.

Your customers.

Your peers.

Your upline.

Your downline.

Your MLM company president and office staff.

Let me tell you, if you don't have good relationships with all of them, you're not going to make it in your MLM business.

You see, you will get the possessions AFTER you work on the relationships. Strive to get the possessions first, and you'll only get frustrated and perhaps fall into that oh-so-common MLM depression.

My brother-in-law was right. He was ever so right with his cogent statement...

'It's not about possessions, it's about relationships.'

It's just unfortunate that he had to pay such a high price to come to this realization so late in his life on this planet.

Let me ask you...
