MLM Business Opportunity Recruiting Tips

Well, it happened again last night. Another unrequested pitch for an MLM business opportunity. But this one was 'special'. Brand new MLM company. Worldwide business opportunity expansion. MLM Leaders joining in droves. Startup phase.

Etcetera. Etcetera. Etcetera.

Yawn.

It truly amazes me how easy it is to tell a relative newbie to MLM from one who is more seasoned in the game.

The newbies think that we're the game to be hunted. Their mindset is: 'If it's in MLM - it's fair game.'

And what happens in the meantime? They've wasted another half an hour doing their MLM business opportunity speil and wasting a perfectly good presentation on someone who wasn't even a qualified prospect to begin with.

Why is it that just because someone is in MLM it's assumed that it's open season and they're viable targets to be hunted down and cornered? At least until you listen to their presentation and them give them the ego-deflating 'Not no, but heck NO!'

Does this kind of recruiting stuff go on in other fields? Or is this just an MLM business opportunity type thing that people think they have to do in order to survive? It's befuddling sometimes.

I can't imagine someone who's flipping patties at the local burger shack approaching every person they meet while walking down the sidewalk on their day off and accosting them with the statement

'Hey come work with me down at the burger shack. It's great. You'll love it and you can get your family to work with you too. Whaddaya say?'

Somehow I don't think that's happening on a daily basis anywhere in the country. But oh, it happens all the time when it comes to a new MLMer and his/her new MLM business opportunity.

Let's discuss what can be done about it so no one's precious time is unnecessarily wasted, shall we?

I remember listening in on a GreatestNetworker.com conference/training call several years ago. John Milton Fogg, the MLM legend, is the person who owns the site and was running the call.

While he was asking people to introduce themselves two of the callers found out they were promoting a similar product for two separate companies. And what happened next?

They began to puff up their chests and go into their spiel about how THEIR company was the best and their product was superior because it had so much of this. And so on and so forth.

Well, they didn't get to finish their little competitive sales pitches to each other because Mr. Fogg interrupted ever so politely and in no uncertain terms told them to 'save the sales pitches for people who aren't on the call'.

That shut them up. Fast.

You see, Mr. Fogg had been in the MLM industry long enough to know that what these two people were doing was doing nothing but creating adverse feelings. Neither was listening to the other because both thought they were right.

And it would've ended up in an argument had it gone further. But Mr. Fogg knew it was like the decades old Ford versus Chevrolet arguments. Each has it's benefits. And it's drawbacks.

So, what does all this mean to you as you go along in your new or floundering MLM business opportunity? One simple thing...

Save the MLM Business Opportunity Recruiting for the People who are Qualified Enough for You to Spend Your Time With. And Don't Waste Your Time with Those You Shouldn't be Wasting Your Time with.

As you know, your time is vitally precious. So use it to the best of your abilities. Save the MLM business opportunity recruiting for those who WANT to hear about your MLM opportunity.

And while you're at it, don't do what still others do when they get you on the phone.

"Mr. Smith, this is not an MLM program, but if I could show you how to recruit 30 people into your business in the next 14 days would you spend the next 15 minutes with me to learn how to do that?"

"I thought you said this wasn't an MLM program..."

"It isn't. Do you have 15 minutes to learn how to do this?"

"Does this ultimately involve joining something and paying monthly fees to someone?"

"Well,... yes."

"Then this IS an MLM program. And I'm already in a program. And no I'm not interested. But I may have been if you were honest with me from the start of this conversation. Goodbye."

Again, don't do that to people you talk with.

Be honest.

Be forthcoming.

Be upfront.

Be real.

There are more than enough people around who are willing to really listen to what you have to say about your MLM business opportunity.

It's just up to you to find those who are available AND willing to listen.

Good luck.
